Cycling Tour: Breakfast with Migratory Birds

You’ve probably been marveled by the chaos that reins the Chandni Chowk area of Old Delhi. Your taste buds would have been amply tantalized by the many flavours on offer. Then, you’d ventured off to New Delhi and seen Connaught Place and Lutyens Delhi. If you have done this, then it’s safe to assume that you are following the traditional route taken by tourists in Delhi. Now, let’s look at some of the non-traditional routes and places that you probably have not seen.

Probably You Haven’t Seen
A less chaotic Delhi, less crowded, more greener, and more peaceful Delhi. Believe it or not, such a Delhi also exists! It’s called Rural Delhi and I’d like to show it to you on a cycling tour.

Tour Details
Now, let’s get down to the nitty gritty. We’ll start the ride in the wee hours, approximately 6.30 a.m., and ride along a water body. About 15 kms later, the scenic water body will end and we’ll hit a road that does have traffic. For safety reasons, we’ll take a car from here and drive for 10 minutes to the sanctuary.

At the sanctuary, some of the birds you’ll see are resident birds, such as Black francolin, Indian roller, White-throated kingfisher, Spotbill, and Painted stork, and migratory birds, such as Siberian Crane, Greater Flamingo, Ruff, and Black-winged Stilt. For more details on the sanctuary, refer to Sultanpur National Park.
